40 Years of Life and the Wisdom I've Gained + My Birthday Wish for You!
Hello, beloved friend, it is my 40th birthday, Saturday 11/11! As I celebrate the milestone of turning 40 years old, I am filled with gratitude to the Lord for the wisdom that he has bestowed upon me. Four decades of experiences, challenges, traumas and triumphs have shaped me into the person I am today. I have learned that life is not simply about the number of years we live, but rather the lessons we learn, the faith we cultivate, and the growth we experience. Through the ups and downs, I have come to understand the beauty of Jesus as my living hope, the grit of resilience, the power of self-compassion, and the importance of embracing change.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY; LEARNING HOW TO TRUST IN JESUS and enjoying the process of abiding in him while he does the miraculous work in our lives.

My journey has taught me that it is okay to stumble, to make mistakes, and to learn from them. Today, as I blow out the candles on my birthday cake, I say a PRAYER for you. May you be blessed with the courage to pursue your dreams, the strength to overcome obstacles, and the wisdom to cherish every precious moment. May your life be filled with love, inner peace, laughter, compassion, empathy, faith, hope, and a deep sense of fulfillment.

11 Nuggets Of Wisdom

  1. Jesus is the only way; the TRUTH AND THE LIFE!

  2. Become your own best friend and cheerleader. No one will do this for you so it’s a MUST in every person’s life to become an advocate for yourself. It has been one of the single most important lessons I’ve learned.

  3. Stop looking outside of yourself for yourself. I have learned all I need is within me. God’s Holy Spirit is residing within me so he can give me, safety, importance, abundance, richness of life, love, acceptance, and power. I’ve learned over my forty years of living that nothing outside of me has the power to make me feel like I want to feel. It’s a choice I have to make to already feel important. To already feel successful. To already feel ENOUGH.

  4. People’s opinions should not weigh in your life. Let them think what they want to think and you only focus on you and your relationship with Jesus. Ask him in prayer what he thinks about you and follow that and BELIEVE what God has to say about yo over what Aunt Petunia thinks.

  5. If you feel anxiety or depression you ARE NOT ANXIOS AND DEPRESSED. Those aren’t identities. Those are NORMAL human journeys. And we all experience them and can learn to manage them with the help of a therapist and God!

  6. The worst emotional pain and suffering you’ve ever experienced CAN become your greatest story to encourage someone else and from the depths of your pain, God makes beauty from ashes. The pain will not be wasted and if you give him a chance with your pain, suffering and story, he will re-write it with HIS GLORY.

  7. It’s so much easier to laugh at yourself than to endure being super embarrassed on the inside. Laughing is so important in life. Especially when things don’t go our way.

  8. JOY isn’t a smile. Joy can be felt in sorrow. In deep anguish and grief. Joy is an assurance that God is with us and he will give purpose to our pain. We don’t have to feel happy when bad things happen. We can grieve and be sad. It’s okay to not be okay.

  9. Taking a shower will go a long way. Doing those tiny habits to self-care are really going to change the way you feel. Do it. Shower. Put on your skin care. Maybe a little makeup and a nice outfit. Go for a walk. Do something today to honor your body, mind and soul. It will make a difference.

  10. Listening is A VITAL SKILL. pray that God helps you become a better listener. Learning this has transformed all my relationships.

  11. Giving is the BEST thing in the world. You can have it all but it all falls away and nothing we have will come with us when we die. But if we choose to give of our money, time and talent to serve others. That is TREASURE WORTH INVESTING IN.

Below is a podcast I just filmed about having the courage to celebrate big birthdays and how to get yourself to celebrate you if you find it hard like I did!

Do You Feel Worthy Of Celebrating Yourself? | The Courage To Celebrate

In a world that constantly pushes us to strive for more, it's easy to overlook our achievements and dismiss our own worthiness, especially on an important date, like a birthday. I encourage you to embrace God-celebration as a powerful tool for personal growth and empowerment.

My birthday wish for you is that you would become free to see yourself the way God loves you. That no fear, shame or doubt would plague your mind, heart or soul and that you’d create a live WORTH living.

Thank you so much for reading. You are super important to me and I hope you see that my life hasn’t been easy. But if God can use me, so he can use you. He is a God of abundance and everyone has a seat at the table. I hope you feel encouraged to go forth in faith and be led into the wildest God-sized dreams in your heart. I am cheering you on to become all that God died to give you! May you know the depths of Jesus’ love for you and thank you for allowing me to do this as my job. It’s an honor! Thank you.
