Navy & Pink | Street Style Spring 2016

Hello family! How are you? I am doing great today thank you. If by great I mean I just had the most eventful morning with my potty training two year old. Read the My Heart section if you want to hear more about it! Love you, so glad you're here right now!

LET'S TALK STYLE :
Spring has sprung and I am in love with the weather, I'm in love with the colors of this season! It's so refreshing to trade in all the black and dark colors for lighter ones. Even though black and I will still be ongoing from time to time thru the Spring and Summer!

I love pairing distressed pastel skinny's with .a nice light sweater and then layering a blazer to round out the look! It's no surprise that pink and blue are one of my favorite color combos, well for me, for you it might be!  Anyway, I loved putting these two together and I had just found this adorable boxy bag at a consignment store for under $15! So I knew I had to wear it!

FROM MY HEART:
I tell you something, every time I feel like I've got it, I don't got it. You get what I'm saying? My two year old has been doing so well with potty training and has had very minimal accidents. But this morning she chose to poo, all up in her "big kid" underwear and not tell me! So as I put her into her car seat, I caught the smell and hurried to clean up the mess! I was already late, I was already trying to rush out the door. I heard God whisper in the depth of my soul, "calm down, slow and steady wins the race." I struggled between being upset with her the words that I've been saying over and over to her which were, "Don't worry if you do have an accident, honey, we all have accidents and it's going to take some time to learn this potty thing." Well, now I had the perfect opportunity to not just talk but to walk in that message. See, my kids mostly learn ALL that I DO, not what I say. I quickly turned my frustration into a silly song as I began to clean her up and she immediately felt better and stopped resisting me changing her. Isn't that the truth of how God works with us? We "poop" all over our life and situations with our bad choices and He (if we ask Him to) can come in and love us through our learning. He tells us, I love you no matter what you've done, I accept you as you are and I will help you clean it up. I love that He will lead and guide you and I, for HIS name's sake. (Psalm 23:3)
