Fall style for me is all about incorporating the pieces I still love from Summer and starting to style pieces like Jeans, cardigans, a bold and fun mule! Fall shouldn’t have to be uncomfortable and in a knit sweater if you still live in a place that is hot, like Sacramento. Know that your style is able to evolve and change with you.

Here’s my encouragement to you in this time of transition. Maybe you’ve gained weight and you don’t feel good in your clothes right now, Buy a few pieces that fit you very well right now. I know if you’re anything like me it’s challenging to see the pieces that used to fit you, go. But think of it this way. You honoring your body, for what it is NOW is more loving to you than keeping items in your closet that just remind you of how you’ve “failed”.

Trust me, this season has been hard on all of us and the last thing we need is to have a mean inner monologue in our hearts and heads about gaining weight this season. I say buy yourself a few pieces (even if you go to a second-hand store ) it will give you the sense that you are enough as you are right now. Trust me I gained 20LBS in the past 2 years and it has been a daily practice not beating myself up for it. I believe that our bodies are so wise and that if we give our health to our Heavenly Father, he will help us. I am losing weight in a healthy way just because I’m loving myself through this transition. I am choosing not to do it out of punishment. I can now fit back into some of my clothes and it feels great. But what feels better is the change I see in myself. Having compassion for myself. So you too can have compassion for yourself. You are enough no matter what the number on the scale, on the tag says.

Style is so much more than what you weigh. It’s an attitude and a confidence that you are someone important to dress well. And you are! Style transcends everything because it’s about you celebrating yourself at this very moment. trust me that it’s a mind shift and perspective change, but it’s so important that you see yourself the way God sees you!

And yes we’ll be doing what we can to honor our bodies and live healthy for the sake of the love we are cultivating for the bodies God has given us but not as punishment for not fitting into a piece of cloth. You are so much more than a number. God delights in you, right this very minute.

Be gentle with yourself in this time.

Be consistent.

Have a clear and strong “why” for getting in the habit of healthy choices, that go beyond your looks.

Be kind to you, God made you in his image and he sees you as beautiful.

You have something to offer this world.

Have grace toward yourself. You’re human and you’re doing the best you can.

I love you so much. I pray for your health and wellbeing! I know that we are only becoming stronger in this challenging season!
