It has been a rough year and decorating for Christmas was definitely not on my immediate radar. I lost my dad to cancer in 2020 and I had toe surgery two weeks ago. So I’ve felt the deep sorrow of grief and discouragement and YET, even though I didn’t want to press into the joy and goodness of Christmas I made myself in spite of my bah-humbug feelings. NOT to say I’m discounting or distracting from my pain I am honoring it by; journaling, praying, crying, and allowing it to surface and God’s perfect love to heal me; HOWEVER, I’m also letting there be room for celebration! And that for me meant going all IN for decorating the house for the Holiday season. I used to decorate after Thanksgiving for Christmas however, it’s a huge undertaking and I thought this year I want to enjoy it a little longer. No matter what you’re facing, please know that you can do whatever feels best for you. If you’re into decorating do it, if you just need a break, do it. Allow God to minister and give you strength where you are. If you’re going to do anything let it be out of the abundance you feel for the love God has for you! I’m praying for you no matter what you decide to do.
