Sometimes beauty seems superfluous. Not necessary. In fact I believe most people think of those who like to dress up as; EXTRA.

Beauty can hurt us. Fashion can trap us. The illusion of perfection can starve us from really noticing the beauty already there. You are enough. Right. Now.

But beauty can also be freeing. It can also inspire.

Fashion and style can encourage your day. It can give you courage, a little or big’Ol pep in your step.

When we know that our worth is in God and it can NEVER BE TAKEN, and we do beauty and style from a source of abundance, beauty is something rather striking in the sense that it inspires hope in us all.

Have you ever seen something or someone so beautiful that it literally takes your breath away?

I know for me beauty and style have had two parts in my life.

  • The choking - I need to fit in and belong- so I get into debt to impress people who don’t really care about me and I never really feel enough.

  • The freeing- I was made in the image of God so I reflect his Glory and not my own. I can celebrate the beauty all around me. within me and on me because it wasn’t me who made it. (Solomon 2: 3)

When I celebrate myself I am saying, “Way to go God!” So go on sister. Celebrate how God made you, flaws and all. We weren’t made to fit in we were made uniquely to stand out for His Glory. I pray this post inspires you to find YOUR EXTRA! Get dressed up this 2021! Take back your personal power and celebrate in spite of it all!

Even if we gained 20lbs. Listen especially at this point, dress your current body in a fabulous way and just decide that you’re worthy of celebrating no matter your size. Gentleness from here on out.
